When
looking at both images one can see that there are different sizes in the
lettering. It can be noticed that when using different sizes in font that it
definitely catches the eye of the viewer. If a viewer were to look at the
article while he/she was flipping through a magazine then they would feel way
more compelled to stop and read it simply because of the font that is used for
the title which already brings attention to itself. The words that are formed
around the “S” being attention to the article as well. It brings attention to
the style because a lot of the time one can see a huge letter in the beginning
of he paragraph and notice it but instead of the letter starting off he
paragraph it just points out the title which throughs the viewer for a loop as
well. The title also being in the middle of the page brings attention to the
article. The size of the font brings enough attention to what needs to be said
about the article. This image used alignment and font size to catch the eyes or
viewers.
Even though it is very simple the resume’s
orientation really makes the resume itself stand out. Not every other resume is
titled to itself which gives it a very edgy and unique style to it. Having the
“I” in the name of the resume create the separation for the different
categories was smart to do as well. It appears to have only two fonts that is
being used on the page. The only difference in the fonts is that the fonts are
bolded and some are not. This was also very strategic because it causes the viewer
to pay attention to the parts of the resume that make you want to look at the
name, or the title of the the categories that the person has listed. The
kearning of the words also make one pay attention to what is being said. If the
leading of the titles of the categories wasn’t so wide and so different than
the rest of the body text than one would not notice such a huge difference but
it makes one. The place of where the contact information is important. The
contact’s leading makes someone notice it and it’s not as close to each other
as the body text which makes it more visible and a lot easier to read so one
would feel more obligated to look at it.
All in all
both images use the fonts and placement of the text to really call out for the
attention of the viewer. It is very simple but it does both images justice.
This makes it be known that with all that can be done to images less can be
more at times. Very simple and legible fonts were used throughout both images
but it catches the eye of those who look at it and that is the purpose of what
is supposed to be seen.
