Visual Communication is the form of communication that is responded to the best. Aesthetics within visual communication matter the most because they attract attention. Bright colors and symbols are essential when creating things that are visually pleasing. Not only does it catch the viewer's eye, it also holds the viewer’s attention because it makes them question what the meaning behind the symbol and why the colors were incorporated when creating it. In comparison to verbal and written communication visual holds the attention of the viewer rather than bore them. When verbal and written communication is used it doesn’t keep the audience engaged because after a certain period of time they get tired of listening to what is being said or bored with reading. There are many music artists that are able to visually captivate their audience. For example, Travis Scott, in his video SICKO MODE ft. Drake. It can be agreed that the video was aesthetically pleasing and it also brought a lot more attention the song as well. The video played on symbolism and color. There were a ton of shots that could be considered to be “trippy” as millennials would say which describes the video to look similar to a hallucinatory effect. Having this type of effect on the audience definitely raises questions of the production of the video but it keeps the engagement of the audience from the start to the end of the video.
Another example, would be a clothing brand called Supreme. This brand is popular especially today because of the bolden white lettering that it used and the clean and sharp font that it used. On a lot of the merchandise it is created by the company it will sometimes use a red or black background on a t-shirt or headband maybe. The contrast of the bold white letters against the bright and dark backgrounds allow the brand to really catch the consumers attention. A lot of the merchandise has prints on them instead of the brand name also catches consumers attention because they use repetition when placing the print onto the clothing. This is so appealing because there isn’t a lot that was done to the clothing but because of how simple and well thought out the designs were it makes it more attractive. Lastly, the brand of Yeezy , by Kanye West is a great form of visual communication. The brand image is another image that is very simple but it makes a statement. Anyone that knows Kanye West knows that he has a clothing brand and anyone who looks at the brand title knows that he created it. The simplicity of the font is visually striking against the black background and especially because the letters are bold and all capital, it is big and is screams “look at me!” What sets the brand image apart from Supreme is the one letter (Z) that has a dash going through the middle of it. It causes the brand to be unique from other designs.
