Last Thoughts

The logo has a great deal of symmetry. Where there is symmetry there is balance and that really shows who Teandra is as a person. Equality and balance matter the most.

Creating the template for the resume and placing the graphics was difficult for Teandra. There isn't exactly a central theme to the resume besides the fact that it is just pink and appears to be really girly.

Teandra wanted to keep the "Diva" idea alive but have more organization than she did for the resume project. There was a theme of super girly but the graphics that were used and the color scheme of the postcard really coincided.

Creating the flyer was truly outside of ones comfort. It was difficult for Teandra to speak on a topic that she had to educate herself about. Even though there were a great deal of limitations that came with the project the end result got the message across clearly.

Scott could've made the sixe of the chicken wings on the inside of the brochure a lot bigger to match classmates. After editing the first brochure that Scott's team did the team brochures look very unified.

Pay Attention to Detail

When looking at both images one can see that there are different sizes in the lettering. It can be noticed that when using different sizes in font that it definitely catches the eye of the viewer. If a viewer were to look at the article while he/she was flipping through a magazine then they would feel way more compelled to stop and read it simply because of the font that is used for the title which already brings attention to itself. The words that are formed around the “S” being attention to the article as well. It brings attention to the style because a lot of the time one can see a huge letter in the beginning of he paragraph and notice it but instead of the letter starting off he paragraph it just points out the title which throughs the viewer for a loop as well. The title also being in the middle of the page brings attention to the article. The size of the font brings enough attention to what needs to be said about the article. This image used alignment and font size to catch the eyes or viewers.
Even though it is very simple the resume’s orientation really makes the resume itself stand out. Not every other resume is titled to itself which gives it a very edgy and unique style to it. Having the “I” in the name of the resume create the separation for the different categories was smart to do as well. It appears to have only two fonts that is being used on the page. The only difference in the fonts is that the fonts are bolded and some are not. This was also very strategic because it causes the viewer to pay attention to the parts of the resume that make you want to look at the name, or the title of the the categories that the person has listed. The kearning of the words also make one pay attention to what is being said. If the leading of the titles of the categories wasn’t so wide and so different than the rest of the body text than one would not notice such a huge difference but it makes one. The place of where the contact information is important. The contact’s leading makes someone notice it and it’s not as close to each other as the body text which makes it more visible and a lot easier to read so one would feel more obligated to look at it.

All in all both images use the fonts and placement of the text to really call out for the attention of the viewer. It is very simple but it does both images justice. This makes it be known that with all that can be done to images less can be more at times. Very simple and legible fonts were used throughout both images but it catches the eye of those who look at it and that is the purpose of what is supposed to be seen.

Millennial's POV

Visual Communication is the form of communication that is responded to the best. Aesthetics within visual communication matter the most because they attract attention. Bright colors and symbols are essential when creating things that are visually pleasing. Not only does it catch the viewer's eye, it also holds the viewer’s attention because it makes them question what the meaning behind the symbol and why the colors were incorporated when creating it. In comparison to verbal and written communication visual holds the attention of the viewer rather than bore them. When verbal and written communication is used it doesn’t keep the audience engaged because after a certain period of time they get tired of listening to what is being said or bored with reading. There are many music artists that are able to visually captivate their audience. For example,  Travis Scott, in his video SICKO MODE ft. Drake. It can be agreed that the video was aesthetically pleasing and it also brought a lot more attention the song as well. The video played on symbolism and color. There were a ton of shots that could be considered to be “trippy” as millennials would say which describes the video to look similar to a hallucinatory effect. Having this type of effect on the audience definitely raises questions of the production of the video but it keeps the engagement of the audience from the start to the end of the video.
Another example, would be a clothing brand called Supreme. This brand is popular especially today because of the bolden white lettering that it used and the clean and sharp font that it used. On a lot of the merchandise it is created by the company it will sometimes use a red or black background on a t-shirt or headband maybe. The contrast of the bold white letters against the bright and dark backgrounds allow the brand to really catch the consumers attention. A lot of the merchandise has prints on them instead of the brand name also catches consumers attention because they use repetition when placing the print onto the clothing. This is so appealing because there isn’t a lot that was done to the clothing but because of how simple and well thought out the designs were it makes it more attractive. Lastly, the brand of Yeezy , by Kanye West is a great form of visual communication. The brand image is another image that is very simple but it makes a statement. Anyone that knows Kanye West knows that he has a clothing brand and anyone who looks at the brand title knows that he created it. The simplicity of the font is visually striking against the black background and especially because the letters are bold and all capital, it is big and is screams “look at me!” What sets the brand image apart from Supreme is the one letter (Z) that has a dash going through the middle of it. It causes the brand to be unique from other designs.
